Christmas 2013

I have sold about all I can sell now.  Almost all of my crop stitching. supplies are gone now.  All of my hand dyed material that I collected over the years is gone now.  My small laptop I bought when Attila was hospitalized issold too.  I hot enough money from my supplies and laptop and the Nook to get the kids the presents they wanted the most.  I managed to keep a roof over our heads between visits too the food bank and our monthly money we have food lights, and heat.

This Christmas I'm thankful for all that.  But Christmas will never be as it was when Attila was alive and well.  He so loved the holidays and went out of his way to purchase a gift for each of us every year all by himself.  The kids had wonderful presents made all the more special because of the special gifts he bought on his own.  So with the money I had I had to choose carefully what the kids wanted so I wouldn't waste my money.  I think I managed all right.  But the presents are smaller and cheaper now.  But I hope it will be a happy Christmas this year.  The house isn't decorated inside and out like ituse to be.  We don't have room for all the decorations like we did at the old house.  But the tree is nice and the house is nice as well.  The tree is in front of the picture window and I'm typing on my kindle nose by its lights.

My hands are going numb more often now but I'm getting by.  I am disappointed that no one is interested.in my crocheted things I tried to sell as I could use the money but no one is and I'm going to stop trying to sell things.  I'm going ti try and donate theshawls and hats to the Cancer Center close by the house and close the esty shop.  Maybe I'll quit crocheting things as well.

My handiwork nimband aching from holding the stylus for typing this so its time to stop for now.

Angels

I will have one angel winging her way to her new home very shortly.  I have another one finished and working on the third.  Somehow it brings me satisfaction and peace.  I only have one person who wants an angel.  Anyone else I will have plenty to share different patterns and types.

Christmas 2008

Christmas 2008 will be a memorable one since it is the first time any of my step-daughters wanted to be at our house for Christmas. This is a picture of the oldest one with her Christmas Present yes it was a pair of cozy socks. I hid her Wal-Mart gift card in them so she wouldn't suspect anything but the found it anyway. The top of the envelope is peeking out of the top of the sock. She was happy.

Now the updated pictures of all my Christmas cards that I received. Thank you to all the individuals in the ILCS yahoo group for making my holidays extra special with the Christmas Card Exchange. I get very few cards as a rule since my family does not send out any cards except for a few of my Aunts and Uncles. So I loved getting them and I hope to do the same next year as well.

I had to take two Pictures since I couldn't fit them into one. I ended up with them on the side of the buffet and the front door next to it as well as one the buffet itself. I do not think that i will get the blahs after Christmas this year as I usually do since I had such a nice time getting the cards and occassional surprises in the cards as well. I got a few skeins of DMC, some really cute little charts to do as ornaments. I will do these for next year. I hope to participate in another ornament swap next year as well. I really enjoyed making ornaments for people and receiving ornaments back in return.

Its Snowing

Well today was grocery day. I hate grocery shopping so we only do it once a month. Of course we need milk etc throughout the month. Otherwise I buy everything that we need for the month. I have done a few christmas gifts already. On black Friday I stayed home and got free shipping and no tax online for several peoples gifts. I got a certain young man in DC his gift too now all I have to do is remember to mail it in time.

I have some games ordered and received for the 10 year old here and some things for hubby and daughter. Got my mom a new coffee pot and maybe a cd player clock that she thinks she needs. Unfortunately, there just isnt much to get her she has most everything she needs. OH yeah, she needs a new pair of black slacks too.

For myself, I already had the best christmas present of all. The young man in DC visited us the week before Thanksgiving and that was the most perfect gift of all. I haven't gotten to see him in so long and he is just wonderful. But then arn't we all a bit biased when it comes to the young ones in our lives.

The christmas stuff is up and on. Tree, village, outside decorations the works. I need to fishing up a few things but not that much. I need a new tablecloth because one cat decided to put his paw through the part that hangs down. Nice big rip there.

I have two batches of cookie dough ready to go tomorrow, one batch of sugar cookies and one batch of spritz cookies. I have my hungarian pasteries to make yet and I have apricot, cherry, and raspberry fillings for those. Of course I have the traditional walnuts too for the fillings.

My last core class for the MBA is underway. I sent my first paper to my instructor last night and hopefully it is ok. I have to work on some discussion questions for next week, a benchmarking paper, and a summary of the week. You know online classes are tons of fun. We have a virtual class room where we can interact with each other. Places to post our answers to the discussion questions, and places for folders, drafts, saved things and yes even a chatroom. I am glad I am finsihed with going to the actual class staying home in nasty weather is much nicer.
